Salvage of the Self

Inside and out, screaming—bleeding
Broken beyond repair
Helpless, dysfunctional, in despair
Jeering, judgmental, constant agony
When did self-sufficiency become the remedy?
Come together, a supporting body
Aid the abandoned, love the lonely
Caress their qualms, not yours only
Address the hurt, repair what has been damaged
Then maybe the world will have no more “baggage"
