Salvation

Anger. . . frustration. . .

sadness. . . Depression. . .

They have plagued my soul. . .

my life. . .

and my mind, for as long as I could remember.

Anger. . . frustration. . .

sadness. . . Depression. . .

I was consumed by them, the day she died.

However. . .

Today was the day, that changed it all.

As I got up out of bed,

my eyes settled upon the most beautiful and magnificent paintings I have ever seen

hanging on the wall.

Mysterious in origin.

With no recolection of their appearance, I just sat

and stared,

and gazed upon them.

My eyes, body, mind, and soul, opened wide to ravenously consume the godly nectar that was laid before me.

And Then. . .

I closed my eyes.

Anger. . . frustration. . .

sadness. . . Depression. . .

All suddenly snuffed out, like the flame of a candle caught  by a gust of wind.

Then,

I suddenly gasped in awe as my body was filled with, new, . . . emotions.

Happiness. . . Pleasure. . .

Warmth. . . Comfort. . .

Emotions, so lost to me before,

lost for. . . so long,

Convinced were gone forever,

Started to bloom and blossom within me

until I was completely consumed by their warmth and radience.

Each painting in turn evoked the same emotions and feelings of euphoria.

They still do.

The warm hues, majestic landscapes, and that oh so special blue,

transported me to a state of Bliss I. . . Never knew was possible.

Until now.

Those paintings. . .

They. . .

Were a godsend.

. . .

Because without them,

If they had never mysteriously appeared,

I don't think that I could have. . . lasted, much longer.

Their sole purpose,

unto me,

to purely evoke just these emotions,

was the most elegantly, simplistic, meaningful, gift that someone could have ever given me.

Whoooouuuugghhhhh. . . . .

Happiness. . . pleasure. . .

warmth. . . comfort. . .

And Finally. . .

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. . . . .

Peace.
