Salvation

I can see the waves

unforgiving, relentless

keeping my body as its own

Denying me my only salvation in the distance

Farther and farther it drifts.

My family's save, secure

without me.

My sisters laugh, further

My brothers teasing, further.

My moms warm embrace, further.

My dad laughing at me, further.

His little girl, further

I'm not safe, not secure.

I'm lost, alone, unsalavageable.

The boats gone now, floating  further, and further away.
