Salvation

Poetry is synonymous with desperation

My desperation in expression

It brings me to the realization

About how life and its fiction

Will, and always will be my affliction

A double-edged sword, if you will

Me being the only one it’d kill

A single phrase always appears

A single phrase that I adhere

“Although your beauty clear,

No words will ever, I fear,

Give the words deserved to hear.”

A double-edged sword that provides elation

In spite of what I said, it’s our creation

And although the words may cause starvation

It is proudly now my fixation

And has forever proven to be my salvation
