Salvation; Or a Lack Thereof
This is the way.
This is the only way.
You must do this.
“Please do this,” says my father in tears.
“I am begging you.”
Salvation will be granted.
You will be happy.
There is a home waiting for you.
You have eternity to live,
But you have now and only now to make the choice.
Your heart is beating out of your chest,
They know you’re nervous
They know you’re scared
They know you’re lost.
But they tell you the solution.
So why wouldn’t you fix the problem?
Why wouldn’t you do it?
Why not say yes?
Who wouldn’t want an eternal home?
But what about the side effects?
What about the trials and tribulations?
What about all the controversy?
All the hypocrisy involved?
Everything is a contradiction to the next.
The price of salvation is a lack of knowledge.
A lack of an open mind.
A lack of earthly and scientific beliefs.
I am limited to what I can do,
Without judgement, for the rest of my life.
I am told what I believe in.
I have no choice.
The deed is done.
I have made my promise.
I will now live in fear of my family finding out.
It’s the choice between faking it or breaking their hearts.
And that’s where I make my second choice.
I fake it.
From all they know, I don’t glow-up
I don’t grow up.
I am eternally stuck.
Trapped in my own world of disbelief.
No one will know.
And all will remain the same.
For seeking salvation has an eternal cost.
