Same Sun

The morning sun rises over the hill

With an orange glow, on a winter day.

She admires it through the windowsill

Saying whatever comes, be good and pray.

The man feels miles away from home and love

The cold wind blows snow across in small drifts

The blizzard is harsh, it pushes and shoves

He prays that this work will be quick and swift

Though miles separate they see the same

For one the blizzard covers up the sun

The other, a clear sun does she claim

The work is done, the red color now runs

A phone call to the woman, he is gone

A call about him, telling her go on.
