The Same Thing
What's the point
Every day it's the same thing.
She's laughed at
He's pushed in the hallways
And they're the only ones who suffer
Every day it's the same thing.
She's too skinny
He's too tall
She's too heavy
He's not big enough
She doesn't have clear skin or perfect teeth
He doesn't have girls falling over him or is captain of the football team
And they're the only ones who suffer
Every day it's the same thing.
Then that day comes
When she isn't in her usual seat
When he's missing from p.e. class
Whispers float
Rumors spread
Suddenly
They aren't the ones suffering
It's their friends and loved ones
And now for the harrassers
Every day, is a constant reminder of the same thing.
