Sanctuary

I was not supposed to lose my inflated mind

Or give up my demeaned pride.

Love does not make you crazy.

It causes pure insanity.

Lock me up in the mental ward.

Try to put together the right cords

And get out of the strait jacket

That has me stuck in the deep recesses of my mind.

Stare into the green eyes

That do nothing but tell me they love all the lies

I create for myself.

The green eyes hold tiger-like courage

But the person behind those lovely eyes

Does every horrible thing to defy

So he can be weak

And not tell me how he feels.

Both of us

Stuck in the grasp of lust.

A sanctuary where we do not belong.

A sanctuary that makes us scream.
