Sand
Those at the base of the pyramid play their parts,
By the director's narration of the performance,
Sitting at the top with the shiny gold top hat,
With the mantra "the show must go on!"
The base holds well with many,
Hivemind mentality and burdens, guilt aplenty,
An invisible string around their throats,
No Choice, No Choice.
It's clear what a pyramid scheme is,
What riches at top and bottom forced to climb, to act,
But I don't answer to pyramids. I am.
I hold the weight of the pyramid with grace,
I observe and protect the integrity of its beauty,
and when the top starts to put more weight than the bottom can hold,
Only it can blame itself.
I simply observe, hold it together as much as I can.
I am not you, and you are definitely not me.
If a pyramid's top tries to crumble the fabric of me,
It will be the end.
Perhaps, it already is.
