Sands of Time

Have you ever just sat and watched

Watched as time moved on

As the sand fell to the bottom of the hour glass

As the seconds ticked by

Everything moves so quickly

Too quickly

Seconds, minutes, hours

They fly by with every tick of a clock

If you don’t hurry you’ll be left behind

Stuck in the hour glass

Struggling as the sand pounds down

Burying you alive

You can try to dig yourself out

But every change knocks you back down

To the bottom of the hour glass

A constant struggle against time itself

Yet you get up and try again

You push against the constant stream of time

Why?

Maybe you realised the struggle is worth it

Because every grain of sand leads to something

And you want to see it to the end
