Sandy Hook Support Slam

Running to school,
So excited to play.
These kids had no idea
of what was coming their way.
Hair clean and brushed,
Lunch bags packed tight.
Laughing in class,
Thinking everything was alright.
Confused by the rush,
And terrified of the sounds.
Teachers were just smiling
Now it's nothing but frowns.
They were trying to hide,
But had nowhere to go.
What would happen next?
There was no way to know.
Gun shots were fired,
And lives drew to a close.
The teachers stood bravely,
And died for the ones they loved so.
Phone calls were made,
And hearts were shattered.
But to this sick man,
None of that mattered.
He took all these lives,
And took his own too.
Can you imagine if this happened to you?
Dinners for Christmas will now be filled with tears.
These children haven't even seen 7 years.
Unopened presents under the trees.
The news of this tragedy brought us to our knees.
Do you realize what's happened?
What mess this nation is in?
God, please come save us from this unending sin.
