Sandy Our Dog

Our dog Sandy was such an awesome pet,

even when we had to take her to the vet.

Sandy would run and play,

she could do it all day!

She waited for us at the door with a wagging tail,

and that made me smile without fail.

Sandy liked to relax on our lap,

and she even sat with my grandpap!

When sleeping with me Sandy would let out a snore,

who knew being her was such chore?

The day she died,

my dad cried and cried.

Our family was full of sadness,

which eventually turned into madness.

My mom and I moved on from the past,

but my dads pain continue to last.

We tried to cheer him up,

because he was in a bit of a rut.

I still miss my dog a lot,

but I need not to be distraught.

Sometimes I dream of her at night,

and I ask her to shed on us some light.

Our family was grateful to have such an awesome dog,

now its time to move on past the fog.

Her memory will live on in our hearts,

and that’s the most important part.
