Sane Insanity
This comes and goes in waves,
You know.
Sometimes it's fast,
And sometimes it's slow.
I have a knack for communing,
With well-displaced minds:
Dancing on words,
As all conscious thought unwinds.
I need not a drip
Nor a drop to understand
The ramblings and ravings
Of a so-called madman.
I can swim on a song,
And paint with a wall,
And speak all the language
That came 'fore the fall.
Let me run down your nerves
As yu twitch and you turn
Though I've ne'er tasted the substance,
I know how it burns
With a fire so warm
and an ice so cold
as the walls melt away
and the colors grow bold
as the nonsense non-nonsense becomes
and squares return cirlces
when the clock back-forth runs
as the thoughts become sounds
and the sounds weight a ton
as they toss you about
gently, but swiftly, too.
To speak, sane, insanity,
Is a mind's cyclical coup.
