Sanity

Sanity

Keeps me from going insane

Thankfully allowing me to live

Allowing my brain

to function properly

and bring out the goodness in the world;

for it brightens my nightmares

assuring me that I have potential

to conquer anything

I don't know what would become of me

if my sanity ever disappeared

For I could no longer fight off my own fears

or enjoy the beauty of the world

Oh, sanity!

Oh please don't disappear from me!

I am not ready to face the world bare-handed

For without you

Sanity

I am not myself

This poem describes how I cannot express my true self without my sanity
