Sanity

Though I will probably by quite stinky,

and my hands will have to be filthy,

I have to say that the thing I'd most like to hold on to

is my sanity.

I need my sanity: it keeps me from vanity, and keeps me from acting irrationally.

It keeps me in actuality, gives me vitality, and does not encourage brutality.

My sanity helps me understand humanity, and along with that the catastophe of

just the everday normality of reality. My sanity helps me act tactfully, even in tragedy.

My sanity directs me towards strategy during the worst calamities though

I'm sure many would not believe this blasphemy.

Since these are things I believe to be substantially practical, I choose sanity

not randomly or rapidly, but with the utmost tenacity,

as something that will give me the capacity to satisfactorily live on an island

without my family.
