Sanity
I need it every day,
Without it I'm insane.
Some call it Sanity,
Some call it Selfhood.
I know I'm uncommonly vague,
Without it, I would start to bray.
Without it I could never tell,
Whether I'm in heaven or hell.
For the palm tree can't keep me shade,
Without the hit of burning flames.
For no other relationship is as delicate,
As the inner consciousness of the benevolent.
I sometimes wonder if you here my call,
For I have a consciousness after all.
I have been waiting all my life,
To see if I was wrong or right.
I have howled at the walls,
of my new place to call home.
This is my asylum
And this is my kingdom.
For I have lost myself,
without my GPS.
I at least have,
My sanity.
You can't see,
But I see.
This is my home,
Here's where I'll be.
