Santa Barbara II

If you really think about it You have the liberty to change your life Whenever you want Complaining is necessary But if you don't even try to fix yourself You're going to be stuck in a rut for the rest of your life But your life doesn't always end when your body does Your soul will die when you stop valuing simple things Like cigarettes Or the way the pavement smells after it rains Or the way my eyes light up every time you say you love me When you refuse to even try Is the first step to dying You need to enjoy something Something has to make you smile Or your poems will break their hearts Because enjoying the small things Out ways enduring the pain
