santan flowers

santan flowers border all

around my household, like gargoyles

protecting a home, sharp red petals

acting as thorns for evil spirits.

santan flowers stringed in a crown,

like a veil upon my head,

falls down on grey asphalt,

like forgotten fallen swords.

santan flowers border all

around my household, like a lighthouse

leading me back home, small red petals

guiding my journey’s road.
