Sarah

Sarah.....

When I first saw your face,

so crinkled,

creased

and oh so red.

Helplessly you looked,

your vulnerability,

there for all the world to see.

Aura of beauty

glowing from little face,

peeking from beneath

a cacoon,

of wrapped protection,

keeping you warm,

snug and safe,

secure,

in the arms of nurturing mother.

Proudly!

proclaiming to the world

this bundle of joy,

a ray of sunshine,

a bond,

that exists

from conception,

till the umbilical cord is cut,

released;

from your inside mother’s womb,

but I as the father

knew not naught or felt,

the feelings,

the worry of what was in,

the pain,

the anxiety,

the threshold crossed,

till I first saw your face......
