Satire: Heroes

Hebrews 3:10 New English Translation (NET Bible)

10 “Therefore, I became provoked at that generation and said,

‘Their hearts are always wandering and they have not known My ways.’

Satire Heroes

Who are the heroes of today ... who is now admired?

Is it men of character or ladies of the night?

Are they stars in any sport whose lives are uninspired

and in their relationships seldom get things right?

Most drink iniquity like wine and sin does not offend them.

Their careless lives reflect their emptiness inside.

They wandered far away from God so far I almost “hate” them.

Their example shows the rottenness of their sinful lives.

What about the sin that drives my flesh in some directions?

What about the pro’s and cons that battle in my life?

What about the facts that show the contradiction

when choices that are made by me flame the inner strife?
