Saturday Night
Listen up children, and the story goes..
An ordinary Saturday, as the night grew old.
You know, making plans; figuring out how the night'll unfold.
Hit up the gas station, bottles of liquor were sold.
Hit the corner up, 'cuz there's weed to be blowed.
Hit the blunt, grab the bottle... Now you high AND throwed.
But like I said though, how the story go..
They packed the spot, everybody was in the party.
The doorbell rang, and arrived cases of Bacardi.
They had a fresh DJ, all the new jams, he kept 'em on replay.
You know the usual crowd..
B-Boys: Dancin' in the middle of the party.
Them bad girls: bent over gettin' naughty.
The rookies: stood still, just amazed at what they seen.
The blockers: jealous of a dance, they stood in between.
Them Squares: held the wall up, posted on the scene.
It was just a regualar Saturday night,
So it seemed….
On the contrary, something wasn't right.
What followed… made this an unforgettable night.
It all changed, in the blink of an eye.
Red and blue lights shown in the sky, sirens screamed ; cops came by.
Them same ones acting all chill, turned out to have some fast feet.
When cops came, it turned into a track meet.
They all fled the party, and poured into the streets.
Everyone in attendance, ran and hid from the police.
One officer said "freeze! Young man, stand still please."
He kept running.
A mistake, homeboy was too young.
A child, wasn't even 21.
"I'm warning you, one last time! Sir, I have a gun!"
No use, he continued to run.
Wrong choice.
The officer unloaded, and a bullet landed in his lung..
Damn.
His lil' sister, lost her brother.
Girlfriend, lost her lover.
His mother, lost her son.
And the world, lost a dream.
An ordinary Saturday night
So it seemed…
