Saudade
Querido Saudade,
Yes my love, you have another poem from me.
I hope you never grow tired of this old souls musings, and
I hope you know they’re from the heart.
I sit here with the smell of you still lingering,
Listening to that sweet song I sent you,
The ode to our situation.
The ode of the Going getting Tough.
I know my love, you’ll come back one day.
One day all this will be done and we can fall.
Fall into bed and
Fall into arms.
If I could stroke your hair one more time,
I wouldn’t be able to contain my supernova.
Feeling the warmth of your sun.
Feeling the ridges and bumps of time.
My darling, I cannot stop.
I am going going going.
Bare feet on the dirty ground.
Bare feet with toes begging to turn back.
I look up, filling my lungs with the scent of you again.
I reach up, my toes calling from beneath me.
Grasping onto something I can’t see,
Grasping for something I know must be there.
And now my love, I must go.
The woods are more bare,
The trees seem somber.
Aware of the change and
Aware of the loss.
Cradling me in their arms,
I lay where you and I once sat.
Looking down at dirty leaves
Looking down foot by foot by foot.
Oh darling,
My heart filled with such pain here,
The river winds on and on,
Days go by and it continues flowing,
Days go on without a care for me.
I have kept you long enough Saudade,
With this old souls musings.
As the wax continues to drip,
We get closer and closer.
Close enough for palms and fingers,
Close enough for eyes searching and longing
Sweetly yours,
Adea
