Save the Mind

If I was stranded on an island, I think I'd find

With only myself, I'd retreat into my mind.

So with every bird's call

And each coconut's fall,

My muscles would tense, prepared to flee or brawl.

If I was stranded on an island, I think I'd realize

With only myself, paranoia would rise.

So with every slight breeze

And swaying of trees,

My mind would decide something's out to get me.

So this stranded island thing, I can't do on my own,

I'd bring someone with me so I'm not so alone.

A friend, a brother, a parent, that's fine!

So long as I'm not left with only my mind.
