Save your Earth Today

"The moon and the planets are there

New hope for knowledge, peace are there"

JFK says - to space we stare.

Spend, spend, and spend without a care.

But are we going at it all wrong?

Are we refusing to hear the song?

Forgetting about Earth for too long?

Come with me as I take you along.

We have forgotten how it feels to breathe mountain air,

And we wonder why our lives fall into disrepair.

Our possessions and our feelings, we refuse to share,

And we are shocked when we descend into deep despair.

But now, it is too late to turn back.

We've colonized Earth from green to black.

To counteract fatal heart attack,

Humanity must find a new track.

We cannot hope to see progress by going halfway.

Forget the energy-saving light bulbs - that's child's play.

Forget the fake conscientious recycling displays.

These are noble pursuits, yes, but save your world today.

Put aside political arguing that lead us astray

End the smoggy pollution in China without a delay

Unite by solar-powered train Maine and San Francisco Bay

Save Earth today, before there's more irreversible decay

Space is an oasis of which we dream.

But with much beauty our own Earth does teem.

What of the pleasure of a warm sunbeam?

Or the happy tunes of a babbling stream?

Dream we should, and dream we must.

But to this, please listen just.

Put aside the power lust

Before we return to dust.
