Saved me

When the light can't guide you anymore

Words seem to fill spaces but never enough

It always seems like not enough

Maybe I can't say this

Maybe I don't want to

Writing words on pages gives me peace

Give me a reason to have these feelings

The ones I can't explain

The ones that won't even sound right with words

All I know are these feelings need to pour out

Need to breathe and let go

They need to wrap around me and leave

I know their presence

I have it memorized

These past few years

It doesn't mean I want to forget

Just because I want to let go doesn't mean it's over

Here's to the pretty words I pour out

The words I don't want to say

The poetry that saved me
