Saving Him From Himself

I run to find him on the floor

lying in a pool of his blood

with cuts on his arms and legs

slowly letting the life seep out

i was too late

he doesn't breathe

why didn't i see what was happening

to help save him from himself

but now i live with the guilt

of his death

he died nearly 3 years ago

back when i was in 8th grade

and he was in 7th

there is nothing i can now

but live with myself

and my stupid mistakes
