Saving My Love

The purpose for my existence
Is the bane of yours
And not even distance
Can stop the wars

Me, protecting my love
From the violence induced by your hate
You, shooting from above
With your aim scarily accurate

No longer able to protect us
I thought of the only option left to me
And I choose, without any fuss
To give you up to set you free

So I looked her in the eyes
She will the only one left
Made peace with my demise
And left her alive, though very bereft
