Saving you from the Devil

I’m living in the shadows of someone else’s Hell.

I try to scream for help, but you took my voice.

Actually I gave it to you because I love you.

I thought it would save you since you lost yours to him,

but instead you surrendered it to him as well.

The more we help the more we burn.

If we aren’t careful the Devil will take all of our voices.

Slowly but surely I’m not just in the shadows of someone else’s Hell… I’m in mine.

Standing alone screaming, along with everyone else as our bodies rot away at his feet.

Good intentions ripped from our hearts and handed on a silver platter to the very man himself, the one who seems to control us all.

…And it took me this long to see it.
