Savior

Understanding life has become hard for me these days.

I can’t get it through my head

That not every boat ride will be smooth

And every dip will be shallow

It hits me harder when I find myself in the roughest of waves

And the deepest of holes.

I’m trying to stay above,

Trying to breathe,

Just trying.

But my limbs are getting tired,

My back is aching,

And my heart is hurting.

But my mind just won’t give up on me,

Convincing me to swim when the boat capsizes

And to climb when I’m deep in the ground,

I save myself every time.

I never needed you to be my hero

Because I have myself

And for that I am proud.
