Say Goodbye
So close, yet so far away
There’s no way to say goodbye.
Replaying the memories in my head like a broken record doesn’t help.
It makes it worse,
much worse.
I wish I had the perfect way,
for one last farewell.
But I don’t
And I never will.
Time goes on,
It makes it harder to remember.
Your voice
Your laugh
The way your eyes used to light up like stars in the sky.
I don’t want to forget,
But I’m still afraid I will.
I miss you.
Have I said that already?
Oh well.
It doesn’t hurt to say it again.
I’ll say it a thousand more times and still feel the same way.
So this is goodbye
For now.
But not forever
Because I’ll see you again.
Soon.
