Say Hello To My Stretchmarks

Hi there!

What a wonderful surprise you were.

I don’t know how you landed upon me,

but my memory’s now just a blur.

I remember waking up to the tiger stripes imbedded on my sides,

on my shoulders, and in between my thighs.

I hated the way you marked up my body.

All dark and long and you never even mentioned that you were sorry.

It’s okay now though,

because I’m not that 14 year old girl anymore.

I’be grown to love you even more.

You’ve been here for a while now,

and I want you to know that I love you.

So, say hello to my beautiful stretchmarks.
