To Say No is Just to Say
It's been a long time coming;
People searching, people waiting, all for nothing
Is what they wanted you to think,
Until you made it to hear the bell ring.
"It's not that easy," they said,
"Might as well quit, might as well sit, don't let it get to your head."
But your head said no, no sir I'm too fed
Up with these lies, and the flies of cries near spies with ties, too blind to be dead.
They say to keep your mind clear
But the stress of life is too near to the ear
To let you hear the fear in your heart, in your mind;
They make us think we don't belong here.
But I said "No!" I will not succumb to a sign saying "closed"
So this prose is for the rose in our mouths down to the tip of our toes;
It's not about what those who don't believe think,
Their minds ran in a monotonous race of cold embrace so their sympathy froze.
But what I say is go, see the world for your own!
Feel how it feels to own, to grow, to see whats there when you hone
Your greatest thoughts, they came from nothing but stone.
So here's the chisel, let's see how your true character is shown.
