Say What You Mean

Before my eyes were opened i didn't give a hoot because poetry was just a piece of trash on my boot. Then my teacher Mrs. Carroll taught me 'bout Shakespeare and how his life was more than theater. Poerty is about expressin yourself in no other way. Many say it should be thrown away, but I believe words with a meaning can connect our eyes with seeing the person beyond just the being. The first time I saw the impact of my true feelins, I knew I must get others to act. Poetry is more than words, it's sayin what you're feelin without dealin with the political correctness. Its standing strong for what you believe in while using freedom of speech. If we can't be free to say what we mean, then why did we step on that beach?
