Scar of Life

As I carried you

for 41 long weeks

You would kick with delight

to the sound of my heartbeat

When 38 hours of labor

continued to go on

I prayed for you

to be in my arms

Then all of a sudden

I'm being rushed to the OR

and finally two hours later

here you are

It was not easy

But loving you is

and to prove my love,

here is my scar
