To the Scarecrow

What are you even,

Aiming for?

When you “Hey Girl!” me,

in the middle of the morning?

Nevermind the raw of my lips

or the ring on my finger

Marking me for loved.

Never mind me entirely,

But, who falls for that?

What kind of girl can convince herself that

Your confidence

And complete lack of her name

is love?

or even like?

or even interest in anything other than

touching her a**?

How did you miss the fact that

even if you find one of “those girls”

You wouldn’t want each other. Because

What she needs

is compassion

And what you need

is a lesson

On how your cat calls

Aren’t getting anyone anywhere

Save for a dark alley

In the middle of the night.
