Scared
If I could change one thing,
I would extract the lump in my throat,
and replace it with courage.
I would make this ongoing fear go away.
I no longer want to be a goldfish trapped in a bowl,
endlessly banging against the glass in an
panicked frenzy. I want to be free:
of worries, of expectations, of drowning in the water.
I yearn to seperate the unreal and the possible;
to not stumble on every movement and thought
before it escapes me because i would know
what I am doing is meant to be.
I want to be reassured.
I want to be brave.
I want to live not without fear of the unknown
but with the strength to embrace it.
