Scared
(poems go here) intoxicated with the expectations of what we thought could, would and wanted to happen
scathed by the perfect moments that were branded into our mind
and tainted by unforgettable words that were bound to open un-bloomed flowers
that would unlock the infinite possibilities that lay within the deepest abyss of our own being
but scared of the sorrow that may follow the failure as a result of attempting to live the dream
scared of
the sorrow that will peel back the layers of happiness one by one
that would leave the body vulnerable to the mind
that volatile mind will spill lies into every inch of thoughts and ideas
forcing the body to shed tears and blood of it’s own
I hit the bottom of the abyss by doubting all I have known
by doubting myself
regretting that I, myself have let my mind lie to me
to tell myself I’m not good enough
regretting that me, myself and I, have shed my own tears and blood
to let me hurt me.
these are the lies that I let taint my blood
those are the lies I have never listened to
