Scarlet

It started young, Malicious and rough, It was the worst, I tried to be tough. The doctors were baffled, I was confused, My mother was scared, The cancer, amused. I fought, I pushed. To no avail, The cancer grew, From fish to whale. I prepared for the end, For I knew it was nigh, But had one last hope, The angels up high. I don't know why, I don't know how, But I'm alive, Writing this now. To all those with trouble, Diseases and pain, Medicine is great, Hope never disdain. Believe in more, Than hurt and drugs, Know there are spirits, Giving you hugs.
