Scarlet Fire, Doth so Higher

Survival of the fittest,

fend for yourself.

The trees have been all but stripped bare.

Letting go, freeing your mind;

masquerade yourself with your hair.

Molt into another,

metamorphosize into anyone you’d like.

Transform into a beauty, a brainiac, a commoner-

anything to disattach yourself from being this prisoner.

Weighted heavily, legs crossed,

dive deep into the waters and see what’s been tossed.

Immerse oneself beneath the sea.

Swimming free, breathe life into me.

Inhale every bit of a person you wish to be.

To hell with tantalizing yourself with all the traits you long to see.

To be intelligent, to be foreign,

to be a human being entirely brand new.

Stop dreaming, start believing:

this is the real you.
