Scars

Everyone makes mistakes but I feel as if my very own have harpooned me through the heart and pierced your flesh as I tried to turn and hide my scar from you. You got hurt as a result of my careless action, and now I have not only wounded myself but you as well - it is truly unforgivable. But you forgave me didnt you? Told me to move on, for dwelling would keep me from happiness. But do you really mean it? Really want me to move on from you? My scar aches each time I hear the mentions of your name. How can you expect me to move past such a thing when me knowing I scarred you only amplifies my feelings of regret and sorrow? Don’t you realize that forgiveness and forgetting are like water and oil to me? I want nothing more than to rewind time and retract my mistake. I want nothing more than to avoid that harpoon so I could spend my life with you and your scarless skin.
