Scars

For every burn there is a scar

No matter if it's near or far

It doesn't matter where you're from

It doesn't matter how you've come

Black or white or in between

Some are lost some have been seen

It doesn't matter who you are

You can feel the day that's now a scar

From all the grief this nation's won

Thankfully our waiting's done

We know, we love, we laugh, we cry

Our nation's faith shall never die

All burns do heal

But we will always feel

The scar of 9/11
