Scars

You cared not. And I cared too much. I let you get close in the hope that you would let me close. I was a fool. My heart was wounded. The wounds have healed but in their place there are now scars. The scars are now a reminder. A reminder that others will hurt you. That they don't care for you. A reminder that you cannot trust people. That they lie. And lie. And lie. And lie some more. That they don't care when their lies hurt others.
