Scars are Strength

I’ve been mocked.

I’ve been stared at.

I’ve been judged.

I’ve been talked about.

I’ve been questioned.

All because of one thing.

Yes they are scars.

Yes they are from cutting.

And?

Neither of us will benefit from them asking.

Why does calling out the pain of my past do any good?

I have scars.

I’ve been torn down.

I’ve been ripped of my self worth.

I’ve been in a dark place.

Yes they are scars.

And i am still here anyways.

I wish they wouldn’t stare.

I wish they wouldn’t make me hate them more than i already do.

Everyone has scars.

Either visible or hidden, we all do.

Scars don’t show someone is weak, it shows that they are strong enough to overcome their struggles.

Scars are signs of strength.

I wish the world knew that.

I wish it knew that for me and everyone out there who hides their scars.

We shouldn’t be ashamed out of battles.

In the end we won.

I wish the world saw that.
