Scars of Life

For all the things I cannot say For all the lies that waste away For all the good deeds that come with punishment For all the should-have-beens that come with regret For every heart that’s ever been broken For every tear that’s ever been shed For every good dream from which you’ve ever been awoken For every important word that’s ever been left unsaid For any person who has had to try too hard For any being who has been left scarred For any human who has ever been used For any man who has ever been abused For every love lost For every memory gained For all the moments that come at too high a cost For all the relationships that couldn’t be retained For any soul that will never recover For any person who has fallen in love with someone who loves another Time may heal the pain that’s been made But the scars of life will never fade
