Schizophrenia

A figment of my imagination
you are.

not really
miles apart.
I Just made you up
because I needed something
close to my heart.
I don't know where you start
Or where you even end.
You're not really real.
An imaginary friend
Reflecting everything I feel.

Love like this
does not exist.
Someone like you
is just a myth.
A mist
in the fog
that creates my delusions.
You're not real.
Just the perfect illusion.
An allusion
in my story.
Cause confusion
when you ignore me.
What if you really did adore me?
Doesn't matter
because you're a story
that I made up when I was five years old.
Trying to deal with a world that was so cold.

Where the parents always fight
and there is a broken home
that you go to
everyday after school.
Crazy out your mind
Because your friend's on the news.
Getting shot up,
getting locked up,
or getting stabbed, stabbed down.
You didn't even flinch
when you saw the blood on the ground.
In the Rivacide
where there's homicide
down by the River.
God delivered
you to this world.
and you shake and shiver.
Until you find that boy
when you are five years old.
That lifts your hearts up
and makes you  feel like gold.
& if he's made up
so what?
The thought of him completes your soul.
& if that makes you schizophrenic
so be it.
At Least now you know.
