Is it for me or is it for them
He wonders why he is here
Here in the diamond mine
Has no one yet noticed he’s just a rock?
What the diamonds must say,
“He doesn’t even belong in a coal mine”
So if just a rock why does he not go?
Why does he remain in this open door prison?
When it is so easy to leave
To get up and go
To walk out the door
Of this open door prison
Is it for him or is it for them
Those who’ve put food in my stomach and a roof over my head
He wonders what they’d do if he left this open door prison
If he went for the exit and never looked back
Would anyone care for more than a day?
BUT NO, he knows he must stay whatever the pain
Because he knows what awaits
On the other side of the door
So for now he’ll sit their and wait
Gritting his teeth for the 3:00 bell
