School as my Refuge

Mr. Gallagher was a tall man,

With a straight smile,

And before class began,

He let my class play for a while.

I loved the smell,

Of books and toys,

And the ring of the bells,

Was a delightful noise.

I never knew with such distaste,

That these wonders would be erased,

My live for school had gone to waste,

Maybe I should not have put my expectations in such a haste.
