The School of Poetry

Poetry has taught me many things.

Poetry taught me about the world around me.

Poetry taught me how speak my truth and how to live in it.

Poetry taught me that self love is the best love,

because who can love you better than yourself.

Poetry taught me that I'm not JUST the skinny girl

that I'm not JUST the book smart, wordy girl.

Poetry taught me that I am how i potray myself to be, whether that LOUD

or as quiet as a church mouse.

The most important lesson I carry with me from poetry however is how to truly be,

ME.
