Schoolhouse Penitentiary

I remember in high school not long in the past,

The teachers were different, so smart and had class.

As I went on to college I could finally see,

They only cared for themselves and never for me.

With no sense of humor, finding nothing was funny

All they were after was their hard earned money

With new, young teachers they truly work hard

They help all their students, they want to go far.

But the ones that are tenured just dont have enough

More money, more power, they all are corrupt.

It is a dark a day when most schools in this nation

Are being run by many corrupt administrations.

You might see on the news how they go off the wall:

performing strip searches or banning of balls

telling you how and what you can wear

making you change the style of your hair.

manipulating the way they want us to look

one day we are students, the next we are crooks.

Why do they care? Do they have something to hide?

Or is it the pleasure of making all abide?

Students and parents have to stand up and fight

They must stand united to get back their rights

We must have something else ring in our school besides bells

I'm talking about freedom. Lets go give them hell!
