Scout (from to kill a mockingbird)

I'm just a kid who's six

My aunt tells me to watch my lips

I don't like dresses or playing with dolls

Or doing my hair and trying on styles

I like doing my hair and playing with bugs

Roly-polys, ants, spiders, and slugs!

My brother Jem is growing quite soft

Wouldnt let me kill a roly-poly what's next, a moth?

I love my dad he's a respectable man

He does so much, or at least all that he can

Adults talk of things and I dont know what its about

But don't worry by the end of the book i'd have figured it out

I love poetry. Its the only thing I'm truly passionate about. As long as I have people engulfed in my writing, then my job is done.
